She has subsequently helped many professionals, including doctors, nurses and teachers through change and stressful work situations. She was chosen as Doctor of the Year in 2016 by the Yorkshire Evening Post 'Best of Health Awards' for promoting health and wellbeing in the workplace. Fiona is keen to help to prevent burnout in leaders and reduce the leaving rate of highly qualified staff from professions they once loved and felt called to.
Fiona uses her medical knowledge to help women who are experiencing hormonal difficulties, such as around menopause or adolescence, and those women struggling after pregnancy difficulties such as infertility, miscarriage, termination, stillbirth and birth trauma. Fiona worked for over 12 years in Germany as a gynaecologist gaining a broad knowledge of psychosomatic and herbal medicine and uses this experience in her coaching.
Fiona works on a sessional voluntary basis as a Chaplain in Zermatt, Switzerland and has served tourists and locals asking for spiritual and emotional support at St Peter's, the English speaking Church, although Fiona is also fluent in German! At home in Yorkshire, she works with the pastoral team of her local church to support people of any faith and of no faith. She is a licensed lay worker in the Church of England and the Safeguarding Governor at a local Primary School. Fiona has called her company Bright Star because she loves to see people flourish and shine at their potential, and loves to see people surprised by the freedom they can enjoy with new tools and new perspectives on life.
