Dr Mandy Hunter
Mandy qualified with her UK medical degree in 1998 from Aberdeen University, and chose early on to specialise in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, focusing on women, children and families' health. She holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Medical Education and has invested in undergraduate and postgraduate medical training throughout her career as an Educational Supervisor and later a term as Associate Postgraduate Dean for doctors within her specialty. She has worked full-time while raising her 3 children with her husband, and lives in the Highlands close to Inverness.
Mandy experienced coaching as a client from 2017 when undertaking a term as Clinical Lead Consultant for her department, though this prompted her to question her career choices and led to a spell of burnout and dissatisfaction with the nature of NHS leadership and management. Seeking alternatives, she trained first as a Yoga Teacher, then as a Certified Women's Coach with One of Many, before rediscovering her purposeful contribution to Women's Health but with more careful attention to her own and colleagues wellbeing and support through application of those additional skills.
Mandy can ideally help Healthcare Professionals find their own best course to navigate their career, family and personal choices towards their own definition of success and fulfilment of their ambitions. Returning to work after either Maternity or Sickness Leave is much easier with the right support, and Mandy understands that well.
