Dr Carol Ann Usher
As well as being a coach, I am a writer, editor, Wild Voice™ and women’s circle facilitator, life adventurer and dreamer. I love to play - with my grandsons, in my garden and in the wild - whether riding my bike, walking, climbing or swimming. All done slowly!
In my career I have journeyed from plant science research, recruitment, teaching science to publishing. For over 23 years I have supported authors as an editor both in house and freelance, as well as being an author myself.
I imagine a world which is healthy and beautiful, where everyone and everything is accepted, respected and loved for what they are and what they can give. I believe that words have the power to affect positive change. That it's through sharing our stories that we weave together the threads of humanity; how we come to understand each other more fully, become more connected and more accepted. We think that our stories and experiences are not important; that nobody is interested or cares. Writing them down is also really hard. There are many many words to write and in the right order! It takes time, energy and headspace; we are vulnerable.
I am interested and I care. I can help you overcome the barriers that stop you writing. That’s why I founded ‘The Story Garden', to help women who want to share their stories and experiences, in order to make the world a better place.
What my clients say:
I have been working with Carol for the last few months, and she has been incredibly supportive, encouraging and just generally really lovely. She has pushed me out of my comfort zone in various areas, helped me to find clarity and make decisions. As a freelancer, it's hard sometimes to work alone, so being able to discuss ideas with Carol has been so helpful, and I look forward to continuing to work with her.
