Success no longer brings the satisfaction it once did, in fact it feels like it costs more than it should. Some areas of your life are great - I mean really, really good - but they don't make up for the other areas that are painfully not. Maybe you're brilliant in the boardroom, you drive a great car and when you talk at work people listen. But maybe home isn't the sanctuary you want it to be. You may be struggling with your other half, or may be struggling to find the one. You may work so hard to succeed but never quite feel that sense of satisfaction you expect to feel. Hey, maybe sometimes it all feels a bit hollow...

I get it. I mean, really get it. You may have heard Dr Joanna Martin talking about a woman who had an eight pack, trained with cage fighters, and kicked arse (literally in some cases!) in the corporate realm, but who felt empty inside and wanted to find a different path. That was me.

I've run my own successful PR and communications agency for well over a decade now, so I understand the pressures entrepreneurs and business owners face. And before that I held senior positions at a national PR agency and at a FTSE 100 company, which means that I also completely get the blue chip and corporate world. (And the bullshit that went with those roles.) Hell, I was a woman in the defence sector, working with politicians and government agencies. I really get it. I achieved a lot and I was always the woman my friends pointed to and said 'I don't know how she does it'. I had a pretty awesome life from the outside, but I was exhausted and so burnt out I didn't even have the energy to crash. Then I had a baby. A much-loved and truly longed-for baby, but a little bundle of energy that changed everything.

Don't get me wrong, I still wanted to achieve, to smash every ceiling (glass or otherwise) that I came into contact with, but I wanted to do it in a different way. I looked at my son and realised that I didn't want him to end up with a woman like me, because she'd likely not have much left at the end of the day for him. And that shook me. So, I started a journey which saw me qualify as a One of Many Certified Women's Coach and as a Certified Trainer. I've added that to a whole host of other qualifications and trainings which include a BA (Hons) in English Language and Psycholinguistics (the science of language),  Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) (accessing the 'map' of your brain), and Strategic PR. I'm one of the leading experts in empowerment through language, and positioning, in the UK, and I'm also a Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, and a Member of the Professional Speakers' Association.

I'm now a mum of two, a successful business owner and in a happy and loving relationship, living a life I truly love. I've finally found the balance I searched so hard for, for all of those years, and it feels good - really good - and it's made be beyond passionate about helping other women to find their own sweet spot, however that may sound, look or feel.
